WATER

The shelter has a couple of water tanks that the council regularly fills up. Due to its low pressure and the supply problems during the holidays, the use of bleach (called lejía in Spain) and other disinfectants are essential for our operation.

LIGHT

We are in an area where connecting to the electrical system is difficult and extremely expensive. We manage this with a borrowed petrol engine, a solar panel and gas cylinders. Due to this power limitation, we cannot have a washing machine for washing towels and blankets, or a water heater for bathing dogs during the winter.

CAPACITY

The shelter has a maximum capacity for 40 dogs. A really insufficient capacity if we take into account the size of our village and the high rate of animal abandonment. It is not adapted for puppies, which is why foster homes are so necessary.
