ADOPTION PROCESS
First, the pre-adoption form must be filled out.
Our goal will always be to ensure the best possible future for the animal. Therefore, the vedama team will review the form and, if deemed suitable, we will contact you to schedule an appointment to visit the shelter.
At the shelter, once everything is clear, you would take the dog in temporary foster care for 15 days. This foster care is necessary, as during these 15 days, the animal may not adapt to your lifestyle.
If the foster care is satisfactory, the adoption would be formalized. Adoption is free, but at the time of formalizing it, you'll need to cover the initial veterinary costs, which include microchipping and passport, rabies vaccination, and spaying/neutering.

Based on experience, every furry friend in this section has a lower chance of being adopted, either due to their advanced age, physical condition, etc.
Therefore, we propose a deal: if you give these angels a chance, we'll cover the initial adoption costs (microchip, spaying/neutering, etc.).

Expenses
It's crucial to understand that the animal must always be cared for and attended to. They need to be properly fed and, most importantly, have access to veterinary care and check-ups, which comes with associated costs.
Needs
The animal must be taken for a walk every day of the week. It also needs training. This will require time and a lot of patience. They'll become another member of your family, so treat them as such.
Vacations
When you adopt, you need to be aware of what will happen when you decide to take a vacation. You'll need to consider your new family member. Keep in mind that your vacation options might need to change.
Purpose
An animal shouldn't enter your life with a purpose. Having a dog just to guard the house or solely to keep you company while you go running shouldn't be the reason for adopting. They might stop being a great runner or prefer long naps instead of guarding the house.
Future
How do you see yourself in 10 years? Many of the dogs in our shelter have been abandoned due to changes in their former owners' lives: moving, having children, a new job, etc. If you wouldn't abandon your child due to any of these circumstances, don't abandon your pet.
Family
All family members should be informed about the adoption. If you live alone, think about who will take care of the animal when you can't. If you have children, remember that, no matter how much they promise, they'll never be 100% responsible for the animal. Remember that this isn't a toy.
